Kirsty is a new member of the Gold Coast-based XXXX Angels dance team, which performs at sporting events across Australia.

We’re all... really fit! We tour Australia for the entire year and perform at every sporting event that XXXX GOLD sponsors.

When away… I like to make the most of all the amazing places we visit, and go for a run along the beach or through a local park so that I get to see more of the city we’re in.

My most hated exercise is… power squats, although they’re great for toning your legs and butt, so the gain is definitely worth the pain.

I love training and rehearsing with the girls because… I know there are six other people going through exactly the same trials and triumphs as me.

The toughest training is… hours and hours of dance rehearsal, a challenge in itself, but combine that with rehearsals in a pair of dance boots with very thin, very high heels and you’re not in Angel heaven anymore!

My best training mates are… Michelle or Erin for early morning beach runs or cardio sessions, because we’re all early birds and are good at motivating each other at this time of day. If it’s a free-weights toning session or core workout however, I like training with Ebony because we have a similar build and muscle distribution — we tailor our workouts to complement this.

BETTER FRIEND THAN FOE
Nathan Friend plays as hooker and utility for the Jetstar Gold Coast Titans team. He’s known as a tackling machine and is constantly on the top of the NRL and Titans ladder for most tackles. He’s known for running opponent forwards into the ground.

I’m one of the fittest players on the team, because… of my anaerobic threshold and my awareness about consuming the right nutrition at the right time.

My favourite exercise regime is… anything to do with running with a little boxing, but forget the swimming hard!

My most-hated exercise is… the squat, but it’s certainly the best exercise for results.

I love training with the guys… they inspire me to produce that little extra.

The guys hate training with me… as I love the life I lead. This energy is unfortunately taken differently by some people who label me as a ‘pest’.

My best training mate is…
Preston Campbell, he’s an absolute champion!

The best part of my body is… my eyes but you can never see them as I squint a lot.

During off time, my guilty pleasure is… a Cherry Ripe bar.

If I wasn’t an NRL player… I’d still be toiling away as a bricklayer.

The best compliment anyone could give me is… “I love your mono-brow”.

My goal of the year is… to perform consistently each week with the finals in mind.
